AccessCNY is both a new agency and one with a rich history. The organization was founded in 2015 as the result of the merger of Enable and Transitional Living Services (TLS). Together, the two legacy organizations have 100 years of experience serving people of all abilities in our community.
Advocates, Inc. Advocates was established by a small group of caring families of people with developmental disabilities over twenty years ago. Today, we are dedicated to empowering individuals and their families to lead full and meaningful lives in their community. We provide the information, support, and resources individuals and families need to achieve their goals in life. Advocacy is core to our mission. We provide individual, family and systems advocacy.

Alexandria Central School The Alexandria Central School District is a rural school district located in the heart of the Thousands Islands region of the St. Lawrence River in Alexandria Bay, NY. The village is a major tourist attraction situated on the U.S. and Canadian border, just five miles north of the Thousands Islands International Bridge and Interstate 81. It is approximately 28 miles north of Watertown and Ft. Drum, 100 miles north of Syracuse and 30 miles east of Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

The school district has a UPK-12 population of over 550 students housed in one building with a staff of 75 full-time personnel. The school offers many extracurricular and interscholastic activities. Chadwick Residence Chadwick Residence is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization based in Syracuse, New York, that welcomes homeless women and their children. Unlike emergency shelters that provide temporary housing, Chadwick Residence offers longer term housing at our main building and through our Supportive Apartment program.

Chadwick Residence relies on the support of volunteers and donations to serve women at risk with housing assistance both on our premises and in the community.

Our Approach

We help our residents achieve their goals of independent living and permanent housing through a combination of services and learning. The training and education focuses on employment skills, continuing education and practical life management principles.

The Residence Program

The Residence operates 24 hours a day to provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for women in our program. We offer a variety of services to residents that help them develop a solid foundation and move forward to make significant life changes.

Women are referred to Chadwick Residence through the coordinated entry process. Upon entering the program, a woman sets goals and begins to make plans for the future. Each woman is responsible for paying rent, cooking meals, participating in house activities like weekly meetings, chores and case management counseling. A woman coming to Chadwick Residence must make a commitment to work toward her stated goals and participate in programs appropriate to her abilities and needs.

In-house programs offered to the women are directed toward learning, parenting skills and independent living skills. The women are also expected to work on educational/vocational goals which may include improved literacy, job readiness, completing her GED or pursuing higher education.

The women and children have their own bedrooms, but share kitchens, bathrooms and lounges. Participants can remain in the program for up to two years.

Supportive Apartment Program

The Supportive Apartment Program provides permanent housing with supportive and educational services to homeless women and women with children. The women and families live in Scattered Site Housing (apartments leased by the project). Residents must have a qualifying disability and are prioritized by chronic status.

Case managers meet with the clients on a bi-weekly basis at a minimum, discussing client-centered goals. These goals are developed with the assistance of the case manager. Life- and parenting-skills education are also provided. The women are referred to various services in the community such as mental health, substance abuse treatment services and health care, and are assisted with these services.
Citizens Campaign for the Environment Citizens Campaign for the Environment (CCE) is one of the largest and most effective grassroots environmental organizations in the state with over 85,000 members and more than 30 years of winning campaigns. CCE is now hiring for full time entry level campaign staff to educate the public on crucial environmental issues and to advance environmental policy at the local, state, and national level.

At any given time, Elmcrest is home to 130 youngsters with another 100 preschoolers being served in its early education facility. Hawk Creek Wildlife Inc. Through over 2500 education programs and 500 animal patients each year, Hawk Creek reconnects humans to the natural world and inspires an appreciation of nature.

Hawk Creek is a volunteer driven organization that is funded by private donations and program fees.  The center does not receive any state or federal funds.

Hawk Creek became the United States' 41st accredited wildlife sanctuary. We are a non-profit group without public funding, primarily staffed by volunteers, yet we successfully rehabilitate hundreds of animals each year for release into the wild while offering permanent sanctuary to over seventy non-releasable animals. Eagles, wildcats, vultures, falcons, owls, endangered species, and many others are given the highest possible quality of life. A few of the permanently injured non-releasable animals become educational ambassadors, which both enriches the animals' daily lives and teaches the community via our educational programs.
Helio Health Inc. Formerly known as Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare, Helio Health is dedicated to transforming the lives of those struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders.
