SUNY Oswego's third annual OzFest will feature an evening concert headlined by DNCE and a day full of games, food and fun on Friday, May 5.

DNCE, a pop band featuring Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, is perhaps best known for their top-ten 2015 single "Cake by the Ocean." The concert also will feature rapper A-Boogie, whose debut EP "TBA" peaked at No. 63 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and earned a spot on Rolling Stone's 40 Best Rap Albums of 2016.

Also featuring Jack Lawless, JinJoo Lee and Cole Whittle, DNCE released its self-titled debut album on Republic Records in 2016, reaching No. 17 in Billboard's Top 200 chart. Entertainment Weekly said the foursome's 2105 extended play "Swaay" "splits the difference between (Joe's) former band's slick power pop and the electro-kissed pop stylings of his solo album." Earlier this month, the multi-platinum group teamed up with Nicki Minaj to release a new single, "Kissing Strangers."

DNCE earned Best New Artist at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, in addition to other international awards and nominations at everything from the Teen Choice Awards (where "Cake by the Ocean" was named top party song) to MTV Video Music Awards Japan (where they also earned Best New Artist). TV appearances have included performing as Johnny Casino and the Gamblers on Fox TV's 2016 "Grease: Live" special.

A-Boogie, named to the Forbes list of up-and-coming rappers, is a Bronx native signed to Atlantic Records and Highbridge.

DJ Tumbo, a popular New York City-based entertainer and 2012 SUNY Oswego alumnus, will keep the beats moving, while Michael Wade 24K will serve as the concert's host.

The OzFest show is slated to start at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Tickets for the concert cost $20 for the general public and $15 for students (first ticket only), and are available at tickets.oswego.edu. Tickets on the day of event will cost $25.

Daylong festival

OzFest also offers a daylong festival of activities, free for SUNY Oswego students, faculty and staff.

From 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., the South Lawn next to Marano Campus Center will be filled with carnival rides and games, including a bungee run, boot camp obstacle course, stuff-a-buddy, photo booth, rock climbing, air brush tattoos and more.

At the same time, a live DJ will play and the African Student Organization Dance Team will perform.

The event's menu will feature carnival food in the Marano Campus Center food court from 1 to 4 p.m. and an outdoor dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

After the concert, a free breakfast will be served to students at 11 p.m. in Cooper Dining Hall.

The Student Association, Auxiliary Services, Campus Life, SAPB and Division of Student Affairs teamed up to provide the day of activities to wrap up the spring semester.
