SUNY Oswego welcomes the following new faculty and staff, listed in alphabetical order.
Stephanie Alvarez: Stephanie joins the department of Residence Life and Housing as a Residence Hall Director for Onondaga Hall. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Arizona State University and a M.S. in Counseling from Creighton University. Stephanie’s most recent position was as a Graduate Assistant at Creighton University.
LaShonda Anthony: LaShonda joins the department of Residence Life and Housing as a Community Development Specialist. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Grand Valley State University and a M.S. in Counseling from Western Illinois University. LaShonda’s most recent position was as an Apartment Director at Grand Valley State University.
Harold Applin: Harry joins the department of Technology as a Visiting Assistant Professor. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Technology from Southeastern Louisiana University and a M.S. in Engineering Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi. Harry’s most recent position was as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of South Mississippi. He will teach labs in Technical Drawing and Construction Systems.
Lyn Blanchfield: Lyn joins the department of History as a Visiting Assistant Professor. She holds an A.B. in History and Italian from Vassar College and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Medieval History from Binghamton University. Lyn’s most recent position was as a History Instructor at SUNY IT Tech Utica. She will teach undergraduate courses in history.
Sean Culligan: Sean joins the department of Theatre as Technical Director. He holds a B.F.A., B.A. in Production/Design, Piano from SUNY Fredonia and a M.F.A. in Technical Design & Production from Yale School of Drama. Sean’s most recent position was as Scene Shop Supervisor at SUNY Fredonia. He will oversee the execution of scenic design for productions through engineering and management and will teach scenic construction and operating techniques.
Zachary Davis: Zachary joins the department of Residence Life and Housing as a Residence Hall Director for Scales Hall. He holds a B.M. in Music Education from SUNY Potsdam and a M.S. Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from SUNY Potsdam. Zachary’s most recent position was as a Graduate Hall Director at SUNY Potsdam.
Mark Digby: Mark joins the department of Intercollegiate Athletics as Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach. He holds a B.S. in Physical Education and a M.S. in Recreation and Leisure Studies from SUNY Brockport. Mark’s most recent position was as an Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach at SUNY Brockport. In addition to his coaching duties, Mark will handle aspects of advertising and marketing for the athletic department.
Debrah Doud: Debrah joins the department of Mathematics as a Visiting Instructor. She holds a B.A. in Mathematics and a M.A. in Education from SUNY Oswego.
Martha Fasteland: Martha joins the department of Residence Life and Housing as a Residence Hall Director for Hart Hall. She holds a B.S. in Law Enforcement from Minnesota State University and a M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University. Martha’s most recent position was as a Graduate Assistant for Health and Wellness at Colorado State University.
Jacob Gardner: Jacob joins the department of Residence Life and Housing as a Residence Hall Director for Mackin Hall. He holds a B.S. in Education from SUNY Oswego. Jacob was previously an Assistant Hall Director for SUNY Oswego.
Adam Hope: Adam joins the department of Residence Life and Housing as a Residence Hall Director for Riggs Hall. He holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Alabama State University and a M.S. in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University. Adam’s most recent position was as a Research Assistant for the Communication of Arts Department at Florida International University.
Marianne Hromalik: Marianne joins the department of Computer Science as an Assistant Professor. She holds a B.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of the West Indies and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering - Informatics from the University of Sussex, Brighton, UK. Marianne’s most recent position was as a Postdoctoral Associate at Cornell University. She will teach courses in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering and will assist with the development of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Degree Program.
Napatsorn (Pom) Jiraporn: Pom joins the department of Marketing and Management as a Visiting Assistant Professor. She holds a B.B.A. in International Business from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, an A.B.D. in Marketing from SUNY Binghamton, and a M.B.A. in Marketing from Virginia Tech. Pom’s most recent position was as an instructor at SUNY Binghamton. She will teach courses in Marketing Principles, Marketing Management, and Advertising and Promotion.
Gina Juriga: Gina joins the department of Residence Life and Housing as a Residence Hall Director for Johnson Hall. She holds a B.S. in English from SUNY Oneonta and a M.S. in Student Affairs Administration from Binghamton University. Gina’s most recent position was as an Assistant Resident Director for Binghamton University.
Ping (Peace) Li: Peace joined the Office of International Education and Programs in June as an International Student Services Specialist. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from Franklin University and a M.A. in Accounting from Ohio State. Peace’s most recent position was as a Manager of Recruiting and Program Development, Prospect International Education and Culture Services in Maryland. She is responsible for recruiting international students and will administer the summer Intensive English program.
Tom LaMere: Tom joined SUNY Oswego in early June as a Projector Coordinator in Facilities Design and Construction. Tom is responsible for the coordination of design and construction for various new projects on campus. He is a graduate of Syracuse University with his Bachelor of Architecture degree. He is a licensed Architect and a LEED Accredited Professional. Prior to joining the SUNY Oswego team, Tom led his Design/Build construction firm for nearly twenty years.
Christina Leclerc: Christina joins the department of Psychology as an Assistant Professor. She holds a M.S. & Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from North Carolina State University. Christina’s most recent position was as a Research Associate at Boston College. She will teach courses for the Human Development program.
Ryan Martin: Ryan joins the department of Intercollegiate Athletics as Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Ithaca College and a M.B.A. in Business Administration from Nazareth College. Ryan’s most recent position was as an Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach at Nazareth College. In addition to his coaching duties, Ryan will also serve as an instructor for the Health and Wellness Department.
Amy McHugh: Amy joined the department of Extended Learning in April as an Academic Planning Coordinator. She holds a M.A. in International Communications from Macquarie University, Australia. Amy’s most recent position was as an Adjunct Instructor and Student Advisor at Onondaga Community College. She is responsible for student advisement and recruitment of our evening degree and online programs.
David Moody: David joins the department of Communication Studies as an Assistant Professor. He holds a M.A. in Radio/TV Management from Ohio University and a Ph.D. in American Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University. David’s most recent position was as an instructor at Bowling Green State University. He will teach courses in Communication Studies. He is also the Director of the annual Lewis B. O'Donnell Media Summit and Internship Coordinator.
Ana Maria Murabito: Ana Maria joins the department of Extended Learning as a Contract Manager. She holds a B.A. in International Relations from SUNY New Paltz. Ana Maria’s most recent position was as Director of Training and Programs Council of Industry. She will be responsible for the development and implementation of training programs and budgeting.
Shawn Narrow: Shawn joined the department of Campus Technology Services in January as a Computer Operator. He holds an A.A.S. in Data Processing from Jefferson Community College and a B.S. in Oceanographic Technology from the Florida Institute of Technology. Shawn’s most recent position was as an Assistant Computer Programmer at Jefferson Community College.
Joanne O'Toole: Joanne joins the department of Curriculum and Instruction as an Assistant Professor. She holds a M.S. in Education from SUNY Oswego and a Ph.D. in Teaching and Curriculum from Syracuse University. Joanne’s most recent position was as an instructor in Curriculum and Instruction at SUNY Oswego. She will teach courses in adolescent and childhood methods.
Benjamin Parker: Benjamin joined the department of Extended Learning in April as an Academic Planning Coordinator. He holds a B.S. in Business Economics from SUNY Cortland and a M.S. in Student Personnel Administration from SUNY Buffalo. Benjamin’s most recent position was as an Assistant Director of Career Development and Employment Services and Undeclared Program Coordinator at Gannon University. He is responsible for student advisement and recruitment of our evening degree and online programs.
Laura Pavlus: Laura joined the department of Alumni Relations in April as Associate Director. She holds a B.A. in Public Relations from SUNY Oswego. Laura’s most recent position was as an Event Planner at The Events Company, Syracuse. She is responsible for alumni events and programs, such as GOLD, AIR, Senior Class, FANS and Reunion.
Marielle Santoriello: Marielle joined SUNY Oswego in June 2010 as an Associate Director for Design in the Facilities Design and Construction Department. She has an Architecture degree from SUNY Buffalo and has practiced at an Architecture and Engineering firm in Rochester. She is also a LEED Accredited Professional and affiliated with the Women in Architecture Organization. Marielle will facilitate programming and design for projects on campus and is currently working on the School of Education, Penfield Library and the School of Communication, Media and the Arts projects.
Kim Lamar Shelton: Kim joins the Office of Learning Services as an Instructional/Academic Planning Counselor. She holds a B.A. in Sociology and Afro-American & African Studies; Post-Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership; and a M.A.T. in Secondary Ed./Teaching from Binghamton University. Kim’s most recent position was as a Career Development & Learning Strategies Instructor at Mansfield University. She will be responsible for teaching and providing academic and advisement services.
Corie Sievers: Corie joined the Office of Learning Services in July as an EOP Counselor. She holds a B.A. in Communication & Photography from the University at Buffalo and a M.S. Ed. in Childhood Education from SUNY Oswego. Corie was previously a temporary EOP Counselor at SUNY Oswego. She is responsible for counseling services for EOP students.
Elizabeth Smith: Beth joined the department of Curriculum and Instruction in July as an Assistant Advisement Coordinator. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education with a music concentration from SUNY Oswego and a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction: Early Childhood Education from SUNY Oswego. Beth’s most recent position was as an elementary teacher at the Oswego Community Christian School.
David Snepenger: David joins the department of Economics as a Visiting Professor. He holds a M.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado and a Ph.D. in Resource Management from Texas A&M University. David’s most recent position was as a Professor of Marketing at Montana State University. He will teach introductory courses in micro and macro economics.
Lily Soltani-Amadi: Lily joins the department of Mathematics as a Visiting Assistant Professor. She holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from SUNY Oswego and a M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Syracuse University. Lily’s most recent position was as a Teaching Assistant at Syracuse University. She will teach courses in statistics.
Michelle Storie: Michelle joins the department of Counseling and Psychological Services as a Visiting Assistant Professor. She holds a Ph.D. in School Psychology from Syracuse University. Michelle’s most recent position was as a School Psychologist with Lafayette Central Schools; Director and Adjunct Instructor in the Psychoeducational Teaching Laboratory and Supervisor in the Adult Psychoeducational Clinic at Syracuse University. She will teach courses in cognitive and academic assessment, academic and behavioral interventions and supervision of field placements.
Roger Taylor: Roger joins the department of Psychology as an Assistant Professor. He holds a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Roger’s most recent position was as an IES Postdoctoral Research Fellow at LSI Vanderbilt University. He will teach courses in psychology and will conduct research.
Janine Agati Turner: Janine joined SUNY Oswego in early June 2010 as a Design Coordinator in the Facilities Design and Construction Department. She will be involved in the interiors portion of on-campus building renovations and relocations. In addition, she will be responsible for the continued improvements and updates to all academic, administrative and residential buildings throughout campus. Janine is a NYS Certified Interior Designer and has a B.S. in Interior Design from Florida State University. She is NCIDQ certified and is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
Joseph Paul Voglewede, Jr: Paul joins the department of Psychology as a Visiting Assistant Professor. He holds a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Syracuse University. Paul will teach research methods and courses in psychology.
Bobby Wilson: Bobby joins the department of Intercollegiate Athletics as Head Cross Country & Track and Field Coach. He holds a B.A. in Travel and Tourism from Virginia Commonwealth University. Bobby’s most recent position was as an Assistant Cross Country & Track and Field Coach at Bucknell University.
Sofia Windstam: Sofia joins the department of Biological Sciences as an Assistant Professor. She holds a M.S. in Horticulture from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology and Plant Microbe Biology from Cornell University. Sofia’s most recent position was as an Adjunct Lecturer at Ithaca College. She will teach courses in biological sciences and will conduct research.
Edwin (Ted) Winkworth: Ted joined the Lifestyles Center in January as A.O.D. Program Coordinator. He holds a M.S. in Community Mental Health Counseling from Syracuse University. Ted’s most recent position was as a Clinical Counselor and Case Manager at Tully Hill Inpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center.
Jason Zenor: Jason joins the department of Communication Studies as a Visiting Assistant Professor. He holds a J.D. in Law from the University of South Dakota and a M.A. in Media Studies from Syracuse University. Jason will teach courses in broadcasting and mass communication.
