The December Commencement Eve Reception welcomes graduates and their families in a relaxed atmosphere in Sheldon Hall Ballroom. The Dec. 13 event is hosted by the Oswego Alumni Association.

President Peter O. Nwosu invited the campus faculty, staff and community to share breakfast to celebrate a successful semester on Dec. 10 in the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall. The music department's Jazz Ensembles Fall Concert Dec. 5 featured student musicians and special guest group Endless Field. The concert, directed by music faculty member Eric Schmitz and held in Waterman Theatre, included performances by Jazz Small Group, Latin Jazz Ensemble and Oswego State Jazz Ensemble. Guitar and bass duo Endless Field -- Ike Sturm and Jesse Lewis (pictured at left) -- performed with the Oswego State Jazz Ensemble.

The SUNY Oswego Music Department's annual Wind Ensemble Fall Concert thrilled the Dec. 3 audience in Tyler Hall's Waterman Theatre. Faculty member Robert Auler directed student and community musicians in performing Leonard Bernstein's “Candide”; Aaron Copland's “Quiet City," which featured faculty soloists Scott Ciesla on trumpet and Trevor Jorgensen on English horn (pictured); music from Julie Giroux, a medley from the musical “Wicked” and more.

The SUNY Oswego Music Department's annual Wind Ensemble Fall Concert on Dec. 3 was among the many semester-ending showcases for a wide variety of musical performers.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Thesis Exhibition presents works by graduating BFA students and represents their their journeys from students to professionals. As part of their capstone experience, students select their top work, prepare it for display and install the work in the gallery while also providing text and imagery for the exhibition's catalog. The artist reception was held Dec. 6 in Tyler Art Gallery and Tyler Hall lobby.

SUNY Oswego’s Triandiflou Institute for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Transformative Practice and the university’s International Language and Education Center and other campus members helped prepare a free Thanksgiving celebration and dinner Nov. 28, in collaboration with Hart Hall and Auxiliary Services. The Fall Open House on Nov. 11 offered campus tours; a vibrant information fair with campus partners, academic departments, student clubs and organizations; as well as presentations on admissions, financial aid and student life. The Office of Veteran and Military Services hosted a special Veterans Day Luncheon for student veterans, faculty, staff and the SUNY Oswego veteran and military community. The event brought together student veterans, military-connected faculty and staff, and supportive friends and allies in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Ken Cisson (light blue shirt, seated near window), a veteran and military services coordinator and ROTC coordinator, and Jill Pippin (seated, gray sweater), Dean of Extended Learning, welcomed visitors Nov. 11 to the Veteran's Lounge in Sheldon Hall.

Whiteout Weekend drew campus and community crowds to the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Center to see hockey contests in both the women's and men's teams. The Laker men’s team defeated the archrival Plattsburgh Cardinals 5-1 on Nov. 15.

Constellation, a nationwide electricity provider and gas supplier with facilities in Oswego County, visited students on campus to talk about their plant and career opportunities. The Oct. 29 event held in the Shineman Center was hosted by SUNY Oswego's Career Services.

SUNY Oswego’s State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) "Baskets of Caring" fundraising campaign held Nov. 20 and 21 supports the United Way of Greater Oswego County.
