SUNY Oswego’s Launch It student entrepreneur competition, hosted by the School of Business, provides students with a platform featuring resources, mentorship and financial rewards to develop and launch innovative ideas in business and social sectors. Winning students in this year's event, pictured following the final competition Nov. 4 in the Marano Campus Center auditorium, are from left: Naomi McMullen, a finalist for "Embrace Me," a home for women; Max Gobin and Maurice Williams, winners of the Fan Favorite $250 category for "Sheldon Taco" late night taco service; David Sterling, first place $2,500 and STEM bonus award $500 for "Pet Way" facial recognition for pet doors; Scott Newman and Eli Holicky, third place $1,000 for "Grip Lock" hand sensor technology for guns; Harshit Gupta and Paul Wehr, second place: $1,500 for "Game On" game controllers for the physically challenged; and on screen is Amanda Schreiber, an online business administration major, winner of the School of Business Online Student Bonus Total Award $500 for "Spectrum Awareness" training materials and organization for autism awareness.
