A Message from the Chief

Congratulations and welcome to SUNY Oswego! The University Police Department is made up of sworn, non sworn and civilian members, whose primary goal is to ensure a safe and secure campus atmosphere that is conducive to learning. To that end, the campus is patrolled 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by New York State certified police officers, who have also experienced college life from the student perspective. We will be here to inform, protect and assist you throughout your SUNY Oswego experience.

As a new student you will be inundated by information from a variety of sources, including our department. This web page is designed to help introduce you to our department, its operation, and functions, and to help you find the information most pertinent to you. The page also provides a wide variety of information on personal safety issues, policies and procedures that are important to all students. Please take the time to navigate through each of the links below and review the information they contain. You will find the information very useful as you start your SUNY Oswego experience and as a resource for the future. If you have any questions after reviewing this site, please don't hesitate to contact our department. We would be happy to assist you any way we can.
