Financial Aid

Merit Scholarships

Merit Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshman and transfer students who have demonstrated outstanding academic excellence. These awards are applicable to living expenses, college fees, books and supplies and are renewable for four years as long as certain eligibility criteria are met.

Foundation Scholarships

Foundation scholarships are funded through generous SUNY Oswego alumni and their supporters. These scholarships are available for students interested in particular fields of study, are members of underrepresented groups, possess exceptional talent in the arts or display significant financial need, among other possibilities.

Excelsior Scholarship

Through New York State's Excelsior Scholarship program, New York students and families who meet certain income criteria are eligible to earn free tuition at SUNY Oswego.

Student Employment

At Oswego, we know learning happens in and outside of the classroom, with some of the most meaningful lessons learned in the workplace. While jobs and paid internships provide extra spending money, they also prepare students with job skills and an opportunity to build connections with mentors who can provide advice, recommendation letters and network connections after graduation.

How to Pay your Bill

Viewing and paying your bill is easy through myOswego, just login to your account and navigate to the student account section under financial services.

Health Insurance Waiver

All full-time students are automatically enrolled in SUNY Oswego's health insurance plan unless coverage is waived. The premium is charged once each semester and is not related to the mandatory health fee. 

This charge may be waived by completing the insurance waiver. If insurance is waived for the fall semester, it will also be waived for the spring.
