SUNY Oswego - Career Services

You've done all of this cool stuff, now how can you make it sound good to an employer?

We can work with you to develop a really great résumé (which is just a fancy French word for "summary of skills.") Let's get started:

  • Make a list of your accomplishments, skills, and experiences (this can include jobs, internships, volunteer experience, research, education, and more!)
  • Use Action Verbs to best describe your experiences (refer to the Action Verb List for ideas)
  • Use our Optimal Resume Tool to help you format your document - here is how to get started
  • Visit our Virtual Resource Center to have your résumé and cover letter critiqued by our trained staff
  • Keep adding and editing your résumé as you participate in new experiences
