UUP PEP 2024
The 2024 Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) allows eligible employees represented by UUP to exchange vacation leave for a credit to be applied toward their health insurance premium. The PEP Credit will be applied to biweekly paychecks issued between January 1st and December 31st of 2024.
The enrollment period for the 2024 calendar year is from November 1, 2023 to December 11, 2023.
Eligible full-time employees with a salary of $76,028 and below who enroll in PEP for the 2024 plan year will forfeit a total of 4 days of vacation leave in return for a credit of up to $800 or 8 days of leave for a credit of $1600 to be applied toward the employee share of NYSHIP premiums.
Employees who forfeit 4 days will receive a biweekly credit of $30.77 and employees who forfeit 8 days will receive a credit of $61.54. The vacation leave days will be deducted from your accrual balances at the time of enrollment.
Additionally, eligible full-time employees earning more than $76,028 and below $108,646 who enroll in PEP for the 2024 plan year will forfeit a total of 2.5 days of vacation leave in return for a credit of up to $750 or 5 days of vacation leave for a credit of $1,500 to be applied toward the employee share of the NYSHIP premium.
Employees who forfeit 2.5 days will receive a biweekly credit of $28.85 and employees who forfeit 5 days will receive a credit of $57.69. The vacation leave days will be deducted from your accrual balances at the time of enrollment.
Part-Time Employees
Part-time annual-salaried employees who meet these eligibility requirements will be eligible to participate on a prorated basis in accordance with their payroll percentage.
The following are the criteria for eligibility for enrollment in the PEP program.

Be employed on a Calendar Year or College Year basis;

Be a full-time employee with an annual salary below $108,646 OR part-time employee whose biweekly salary is within this salary range at the time of enrollment;

Be an employee covered by the 2022-2026 New York State/UUP Collective Bargaining Agreement or a SUNY MC employee;

Be a NYSHIP enrollee (contract holder) in either the Empire Plan or an HMO;

Be eligible to receive an employer contribution toward NYSHIP premiums (or be on leave without pay from a position in which the employee is normally eligible for an employer share contribution toward NYSHIP premiums); and

Have a sufficient vacation leave balance to make the full leave forfeiture without bringing their vacation leave balance below 8 days or a prorated balance for part-time employees respectively.
