Atmospheric and geological sciences

Atmospheric and geological sciences at SUNY Oswego encompasses environmental science, geochemistry, geology and meteorology to provide a wide range of unique and practical experiences that result in our graduates successfully finding acceptance to graduate schools and diverse employment after graduation.

Coming Together: Past

Oswego's science programs really took off in the middle of the 20th century, reflecting more interest, research support and job opportunities in this field. Students like those in this classic image from professor Charles Yager's classroom have carried our impressive history in the sciences, featuring graduates who continue to succeed in classrooms, research labs and the industry. (Photo courtesy of Penfield Library's Special Collections)
