David Owens, a freelance illustrator and the art director for Oswego County Promotion and Tourism, will exhibit his work focusing on illustration, publication design and branding from Sept. 1 through Oct. 27 at Oswego State Downtown's gallery.
A free public reception as part of SUNY Oswego's Downtown Artists Series will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at the gallery and branch of the College Store at the corner of West First and Bridge streets. Students Brittney Castagna (poetry) and Rebecca Smith (design) will make presentations reflecting on Owens' work.
Owens, a SUNY Oswego alumnus and past recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence, has art directed for dozens of universities, national clients, and international retailers, among them Deloitte, Syracuse University, American Food and Vending, HORZE Equestrian and some SUNY Oswego publications. His editorial illustrations have appeared in publications across the country.
