“Behind the Mask: Portraiture from the Permanent Collection,” which begins its run on Sept. 2 in Tyler Art Gallery, portrays a variety of faces in works from the college’s art collection ranging from the 17th to 21st century.
The concept is to show “up close and personal” portraits at a time where faces in everyday view appear from afar or behind a mask.
The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, with the exhibition running through Sept. 26. A virtual version also is available online.
Visitors must wear masks and maintain appropriate distancing, and only 10 may enter the gallery at any given time.
Classes and groups may arrange after-hours visitation.
