SUNY Oswego's music department will celebrate the works of black composers at its Black History Month Recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, in Room 50 of Tyler Hall.
The event is free and open to the public.
The program will feature pianist Robert Auler, professor and chair of music, performing Scott Joplin's "Maple Leaf Rag," a set by the Oswego Jazz Project, selections from a student jazz trio and other vocal and instrumental works from student ensembles and performers.
The set is expected to include jazz and classical selections composed by such prominent talents as Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk and others.
