SUNY Oswego will offer a sleigh-load of activities, recreation, athletic contests and entertainment over the college's winter break during Cruisin' the Campus for Winter, and college President Deborah F. Stanley once again welcomes the community to take part.
From Dec. 22 to Jan. 21, on or near the main campus, the community can enjoy scheduled free time stargazing at Shineman Center planetarium, browsing Penfield Library, skating at Marano Campus Center arena, hiking or doing a bird count at Rice Creek Field Station, viewing art or shopping at Oswego State Downtown, running or walking at Romney Field House, and playing hoops or swimming at Lee Hall gymnasium and pool.
Laker fans and fans-to-be can cheer at the Pathfinder Bank Oswego Men's Hockey Classic, or conference and non-conference match-ups in men's and women's hockey, wrestling, men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's swimming and diving.
Children can sign up for baseball clinics in hitting and defense, pitching and catching, or for softball skills sessions on hitting and defense or a one-day camp.
Children under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian at all times during Cruisin' the Campufor Winter. Parking is free and no permit is required during these dates, though reserved, handicap and overnight restrictions apply. SUNY Oswego is a tobacco- and smoke-free campus; no use of tobacco or apparatus for smoking is permitted.
