The Fall BFA Exhibition, featuring the best-of-portfolio work of 14 candidates for SUNY Oswego's bachelor of fine arts degree, will open with a free, public reception for the artists from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, in Tyler Art Gallery and the adjacent lobby of modernized Tyler Hall.
The exhibition for students in a variety of studio and graphic arts disciplines will run Dec. 8 to 15.
Star Daniels, one of the candidates for the BFA degree at SUNY Oswego's December Commencement, works in sculpture, ceramics and oil painting. Besides her studio art major, she has minors in art history and museum studies.
"I like taking different classes and working in multiple media," said Daniels, who hopes to find work in a museum. "I also am taking digital illustration. I like knowing a variety of things that can help my art and career."
Other candidates for the BFA, all of whom need to participate in the exhibition as part of their degree requirements, are Fergelyn Baliclic, Samantha Boyle, Christopher Darling, David Dross, Amanda Gordon, Robert Kirchner, Brianna Messina, Vanessa Minges, Milagros Scano, Rebecca Smith, Madison St Gelais, Kevin Tack and Sayvon Whidbee.
Tyler Art Gallery, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays when the college is in session.
