The Finger Lakes Trio -- SUNY Oswego music faculty member Robert Auler joined by violinist Sonya Williams and cellist Heidi Hoffman -- will perform in the next installment of SUNY Oswego’s Ke-nekt' Chamber Music Series, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Sheldon Hall ballroom.

The performance will feature "Quatuor pour la fin du Temps" ("Quartet for the End of Time)," composed by French composer Olivier Messiaen and containing eight movements, and Joaquín Turina's three-movement "Círculo for Piano Trio, Op. 91."

Debuting in 2017, the Finger Lakes Trio performs regionally featuring works by renowned classical composers such as Beethoven, Turina, Ravel, Bartok, and Messiaen.

Auler has won first prize in national and international piano competitions, including the Society of American Musicians and the Stravinsky Awards. In addition to teaching at Oswego, Auler records for Albany Records, and performs with the Society for New Music and Syracuse Orchestra. He is also the founder and executive director of Laveck Concerts, a recital series that brings world-class classical music to an underserved portion of upstate New York.

Williams is currently the associate concertmaster of the Syracuse Orchestra and is engaged in chamber music and recitals in the Syracuse area. She has also performed with many other orchestras in our region including the Buffalo Philharmonic, Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Binghamton Philharmonic as guest principal second, and the Rochester Chamber Orchestra.

Hoffman is presently a member of the Syracuse Orchestra and the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra in Chicago. She has performed in North and South America, Europe and Japan with such groups as the American Symphony, Jupiter Symphony, Tchaikovsky Chamber Orchestra, Northwest Sinfonietta, Pacific Northwest Ballet, new music group Ensemble X, as well as with the rock bands Paige and Plant, and Heart.

The Ke-nekt' Chamber Music Series is a collaboration between the ARTSwego Performing Arts Series and SUNY Oswego Music Department.
