Four Oswego students were recently inducted into the SUNY Oswego chapter of Delta Phi Alpha, the National German Honor Society. Clayton Andrews, Trey Woolwine, Misaki Naito and Kylie Thomas were honored for their outstanding academic achievement in German as well as for their participation in cultural events focusing on the German-speaking countries.
Andrews is from Oswego and is a major in global and international studies. He also has a minor in German and hopes to study abroad next year.
Originally from Hornell, Woolwine majors in audio recording and production with a minor in German. He will study abroad this year in Kempten through Oswego’s summer program. Woolwine intends to continue his studies of music in graduate school, possibly in Germany.
Naito’s hometown is Chigasaki, Japan. At Oswego, her major is global and international studies and she has a minor in German. She has already traveled and volunteered in Germany. Naito enjoys meeting and working with German speakers.
Thomas is from Carthage and is a studio art major. After graduation, she intends to work as a tattoo artist. he is also exploring the idea of working and living in Germany.
Modern languages and literatures faculty members Patrick Schultz and Ana Djukic-Cocks welcomed the new members and thanked them for their dedication to German and its attendant cultures.
