Supporting leadership -- Exelon Corporation recently donated $2,500 to Leadership Oswego County to support the long-running leadership development program. Exelon Corporation recently donated $2,500 to Leadership Oswego County's 2018 program to support the long-running leadership development program.
The annual program administered by SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations prepares a select group of county residents to become the community stewards of the future. Each group embarks on a nine-month course on Oswego County and its resources, vital issues of today and visioning for tomorrow.
Exelon's funds allow LOC to expand and enhance its programming, as well as provide a scholarship for one program participant for the current program year. In addition to the class donation, Exelon sponsors one of LOC’s ten class days, “Communications Day,” scheduled at Exelon’s Joint Information Center, located at the Oswego County Airport, on April 6.
Exelon is committed to providing innovation, best-in-class performance and thought leadership to help drive progress for their customers and communities. In 2017 alone, Exelon gifted over $52 million to non-profit organizations.
Developing leaders
Throughout every LOC program, community members mentor and share with participants the skills and knowledge needed to be effective leaders. The program aims to ensure its graduates are better prepared to serve the community in the roles of board member, citizen, employee or volunteer with organizations that serve Central New York.

The $975 tuition expense covers travel to and from LOC’s Retreat Sept. 13 and 14 at Tailwater Lodge, as well as the overnight stay, a scenic bus tour of Oswego County, a complimentary ticket for LOC Graduation (dinner included), and breakfast, lunch and snacks provided each class day. Scholarships are available.
