The OzThrift Sale that supports sustainability, while offering outstanding bargains to shoppers, continues today and opens up to the greater Oswego community on Saturday and Sunday.
The Sustainability Office coordinates this event unfolding in the Swetman Gym and Room 133 of Marano Campus Center, which offers new-to-you treasures including clothing, rugs, appliances, utensils, decorations, media and much more.
Bargain-hunters among the campus community can visit these locations through Thursday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20 and 21, the greater Oswego community will have the opportunity to pick up deals in the same location from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, Sunday will feature a special promotion where visitors can pay $5 for a bag they can fill with whatever they can fit to really scoop up bargains.
This effort diverted 25,000 pounds of material this year alone from waste streams and into the residence halls and homes of people who appreciate these new treasures. Money raised supports campus sustainability initiatives.
