One of the college’s newest locations, The Space in Marano Campus Center, will welcome the Office of Admissions’ Information Programs and Mini Open Houses for the spring semester.

As the west wing of Sheldon Hall undergoes some renovation and construction, The Space will act as a modern and flexible alternative for hosting guests visiting the Oswego campus, immersing them in student activity space. Built in 2019 to accommodate student events with the latest technical amenities, The Space welcomes visitors with a modern ambiance including convenient parking for guests.

“Moving to the Space was an exciting move to show our prospective families our new modernized locations on campus,” said Sahar Rajput, admissions counselor in the Office of Admissions and a 2017 SUNY Oswego graduate.

“The area provides multiple benefits such as three projectors for added visibility, round seating to allow the families to interact with one another, as well as gender-inclusive bathrooms," Rajput said. "We were even able to promptly turn the green room into a playroom for small children to allow our families some peace of mind when visiting Oswego. We encourage all our prospective families to visit us at The Space to see what Oswego has to offer.”

Admissions programs being held in the Space will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every weekday, with the intention of clubs and organizations using the facility past 4 p.m. Sign-ups and a schedule for admissions events can be found on oswego.edu/visit.

Note that previous activities in The Space had already been relocated: COVID testing for the campus community has since relocated to the Poucher Lounge Testing Center and will be open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the spring 2022. Textbook pickup is now located in the basement of the Penfield Library.
