Physical and mental wellness opportunities will welcome new and returning students during 2018 Opening Week activities, also letting students know some of the many ongoing services the college offers.
The healthy welcome begins on Move-in Day, Friday, Aug. 24, when the Counseling Services Center will set up in front of Mary Walker Health Center and between Oneida and Onondaga halls with water, snacks and information about their services supporting mental wellness at the college.
On Saturday, Aug. 25, “Being Healthy at Oswego,” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in various locations, will provide an opportunity to learn about positive and negative choices affecting health and student journeys at Oswego.
Students are invited to take part in friendly competition among residence halls from 2 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 25 as part of Project Play. Regardless of athletic ability, all residential students are welcome to participate in this contest for a grand trophy and bragging rights.
Campus community members can enjoy some group relaxation beside Lake Ontario during Lakeside Yoga, at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, behind Johnson Hall.
A Co-Rec Beach Volleyball Tournament will begin at 11 a.m. on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3. Teams need a minimum of three men and three women.

Campus Recreation: Providing opportunities through intramural and club sports, as well as open recreation programs and special events

Students Helping Oz Peers (SHOP): A pantry with food, toiletries and clothing for those needing help affording these essentials
