Three of the four winners of the CNY Short Film Competition are SUNY Oswego graduates who will receive generous support to bring their film ideas to life.

Barbara St. Michel, associate director of Campus Life, and Tyrone Johnson-Neuland, assistant director for technical support in Campus Technology Services, had their decades of dedication to SUNY Oswego recognized through the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.

In addition to being a world-renowned artist, educator and Fulbright Scholar, SUNY Oswego art professor Juan Perdiguero can add another honor: earning the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities.

SUNY Oswego mathematics professor Ampalavanar Nanthakumar recently earned the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, recognizing his exemplary skills as an educator, dedication to students and contributions to the field of statistics.

Communication studies faculty member Lindsay McCluskey has earned a competitive fellowship that will support her teaching, research, service and leadership.

Two SUNY Oswego graduates from the Class of 2020 -- Ajaneé Fryar and Laura Piekunka -- are among 100 honorees statewide for the new Chancellor’s Undergraduate Scholarships and Graduate Fellowships for the State of New York.

Ongoing research efforts, leadership for an international research competition and a selfless disposition helped make Fehmi Damkaci, professor and chair of chemistry, this year’s winner of the President’s Award for Scholarly and Creative Activity.

Outstanding work as an educator and mentor have earned Mohammad Islam, an associate professor of physics, the college’s President’s Award for Teaching Excellence.

The State University of New York has recognized Leigh Wilson as a Distinguished Service Professor, one of the SUNY system’s highest honors.

Gonzalo Aguiar Malosetti of SUNY Oswego’s department of modern languages and literatures has earned a prestigious National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Scholar Fellowship for his book project,"Tropes of Violent Inequality: Brazilian Crime Fiction in a Post-Neoliberal Age."
