Rebecca Dunham -- a "poet as moral witness" -- will make a free presentation at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, in SUNY Oswego's Marano Campus Center auditorium as part of the English and creative writing department's Living Writers Series.

"Only 982," a 14-minute documentary, will screen at 4 p.m. Friday (Nov. 16) in Marano Campus Center auditorium. A question-and-answer session with filmmakers Mic-Anthony Hay, a senior in journalism, and English and creative writing faculty member Juliet Aires Giglio will follow.

SUNY Oswego faculty member Juliet Aires Giglio and her husband, Keith Giglio, teamed as screenwriters for the comedy romance "A Very Nutty Christmas," premiering at 8 p.m. Nov. 30 on the Lifetime network and starring Melissa Joan Hart and Barry Watson.

The SUNY Oswego planetarium will preview the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing with programs at 7 p.m. every Sunday during November.

Kenny Roffo, a 2017 SUNY Oswego graduate who is now a NASA software engineer, will return to his alma mater to discuss “InSight: The Next Mars Lander” at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, in Room 132 of the Shineman Center.

Guest speaker Dr. David Morrow of American University will deliver the 30th anniversary Warren Steinkraus Lecture on Human Ideals, titled "Climate Justice and Carbon Renewal," at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in Marano Campus Center auditorium, Room 132.

Refinery29 co-founder/global editor-in-chief Christene Barberich, a 1991 Oswego graduate in both English writing arts and in art as well as a speaker at May's Commencement, discussed how what she studied in college played a role in her success, in an interview on ABC News Radio's "No Limits with Rebecca Jarvis."

Thanks to a grant from the National Institutes of Health, computer science faculty member Daniel Schlegel plans to apply artificial intelligence (AI) to an immensely complex problem: the automated interpretation of guidelines for medical treatment of diseases.

SUNY Oswego faculty and student scientists working to monitor and protect an environmentally sensitive Oswego County habitat of endangered species also plan to work with the Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District to hold neighborhood education sessions about how people can alleviate some of the threats.
